The Star

There is actually very little to say about The Star, as its meaning is nearly always of that of hope.  Waite describes the meaning for this card as:  Loss, theft, privation, abandonment; another reading says-hope and bright prospects.  Reversed – arrogance, haughtiness, impotence.

Of course, all the above, being loss, theft, privation, etc, lead one to hope that things will get better.  It can often indicate, too, that Pandora’s box has been opened, in that when Pandora opened the box, everything flew out, leaving only hope inside.  Opening Pandora’s box is not always a bad thing as when everything is out in the open, healing and a new start can begin.
